John Dickson and Son Round-Action made in 1927
12 Gauge, patent triggerplate action, patent single-trigger, side-by-side shotgun
This is quite a special Round-Action for us to have in for sale, delivered in October 1927 as a lightweight (only 5lb 13oz) with 28in steel barrels and a Dickson patent single-trigger. Marked with Patent Use Number 1730, its the 1730th patent-gun made in the Round-Actions 140 year history.
The action has fine bouquet and scroll engraving and is fitted with a long replacement well-figured stock. The barrels have been overhauled including a re-joint and having the ribs relaid and barrels re-blacked.
The original owner has an interesting and important industrial heritage and connection to East Lothian, just south of Edinburgh and the family had ordered a number of guns from Dicksons in the 1920's.
