Available Guns

This is a superb example of a recently completed re-manufactured gun based on the the more modern Dickson Round-Action shape. This original action and was chosen to be re-manufactured due to the excellent condition of the action, lockwork and Sumner bold acanthus scroll engraving.  

During the re-manufacture process, the work carried out included: 

• The manufacture and fitment of new 29 inch steel chopper-lump barrels, London Nitro Proof with 2 3/4in (70mm) chambers.
• Fitment of a new stock and fore-end in the finest walnut to the correct Dickson pattern and shape.
• New internal springs and new external pins
• New gold wash to protect the internal components
• All engraving picked-up where necessary on the pins and furniture
• Best colour hardening reapplied to protect and enhance the external surfaces of the gun    
• The original oak-and-leather case is in excellent condition and has been slightly modified to take the new barrels and stock length

This is the great opportunity to fast-track into an as-new gun at a considerable time and cost saving over a new gun build. 

Your name, as the new owner and the guns new specification will be entered into our Dickson gunmaking ledger, which first began in 1838.

Provenance

This gun was originally delivered in 1907 with 28 inch steel barrels to a renowned doctor in Edinburgh, who specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology. The gun has been serviced and maintained by Dickson's for the last 70 years by subsequent owners.
