A Pair for Every Occasion

John Dickson and Son at DSC 2022

December Opening Hours

From Monday 29th November until Thursday 23rd December we will be open five days a week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Please note our final day of business in 2021 will be Friday 24th December and we will be closing at 2pm.

We have decided to take an extended break during the festive season and will not reopen until Wednesday 5th January 2022.

If you intend to visit us soon, may we please remind you that:

There will be no public access to the workshop. We will only be available to meet with customers through the main shop.

It is strictly one customer at a time in the shop and we will be observing a 2-metre social distancing rule with the customer at all times. All staff will have hand sanitiser, wipes and masks to hand.

Please bring a face mask as it is mandatory in Scottish retail premises to wear one - if you don't have one, we will happily provide one.

If we can assist with anything in advance of your visit, you can contact us here

Vintage Gun Inventory Update

Whilst sourcing good vintage Round-Actions is a priority, we still have huge demand for Scottish guns generally, and we have some pretty special guns coming through in the Spring of 2022.

This list includes:

John Dickson 16 bore Bar-in-Wood hammer gun with good, clean, Nitro damascus barrels - one of only seven guns made in this configuration - Originally delivered in 1881

John Dickson 12 bore bar-action hammer gun with 1st pattern Purdey patent thumb-opener with good, clean, 31in Nitro damascus barrels - Originally delivered in 1871

Joseph Harkom 12 bore Anson & Deeley gun, cased two barrelled set with good, clean, Nitro damascus barrels and new steel barrels

James Dougall 12 bore Anson & Deeley gun with good, clean, Nitro damascus barrels that have 2 3/4in chambers

John MacPherson of Inverness 12 bore Anson & Deeley driven grouse gun with an elevated rib and 3/4 choked barrels

Our vintage gun inventory page is updated weekly, which you can view here.

All guns we offer for sale have been through the workshop and meticulously prepared for sale by our team of gunmakers. We continue to try and source the best examples of Scottish guns we can find but if there is something specific you are looking for or you wish to move your vintage gun on, then please get in contact here

A Pair for every occasion

We are proud to have the best selection of vintage Dickson guns offered anywhere in the world and we currently have a great selection of pairs of Round-Actions in stock with barrels in 27in, 28in and 29in. Currently, we are still intending to have a presence in Dallas for the return of this fantastic show. However, we continue to monitor UK Government guidance and policies on foreign travel and the challenges being presented with the rise of the Omnicron variant, and so cannot rule out a change to our attendance status.

If you would like to make an appointment to meet with our Managing Director, J-P Daeschler, in Dallas you can make arrangements through our contact form  here
